User Evaluation Session Plan

Session run by: Xue Huang Studio and Game Name: Studio 7 – Retroactive Feature Team Name: Team 5 Location of Testing: Discord and offline

Background

At the end of Sprint development, we need to figure out whether our Main Game Screen are user friendly。

Aims & Objectives

What do people think of our Main Game screen UI design? Is the background music chosen in line with the theme of the game and the user likes it, we want to see these design are used correctly for their allocated purposes.

Prototype

Tester would play the game running at branch 'game_loop_team_5' to test Main Game Screen UI design

Testing plan

"Determine whether the UI design are valid and player feel comfortable about the design"

  1. Show user the game and how the game play, it would help user understand the theme of game correctly.
  2. Ask the tester to have a look at the Main game Screen before playing. ask for their idea about first look.
  3. Let user play the level 1 game, ask them if they are happy with the UI. any other opinion for UI improvement?

Interactable Objects:

  1. How do you feel at first sight at main game screen?
  2. Are you happy with Main Game Screen? Any opinion about improvement?

Response 1:

  1. The screen looks too dark; I can’t see the NPC I should control.
  2. No really, I am hoping camera can move backward so I can view more space at map. But I really love the scoreboard and timer display at the top. Improvement: The screen brightness needs to be increased and user should be able to look at more space at map.

Response 2:

  1. Screen looks dark; I can’t find what should I do.
  2. No, I like the UI design: timer display at the top. Improvement: The screen brightness needs to be increased, and the scoreboard should change style like “text font color change to pink”. White color looks board.
