## US-RSE Education & Training Seminar Series

US-RSE periodically presents technical talks and tutorials related to Education & Training for RSEs.

## Event

The next tutorial of the US-RSE Education & Training Seminar Series will feature Hannah Cohoon "Rapid Usability Assessments."
This event will take place **Tuesday, June 24th at 2-4 PM ET, 1-3 PM CT, 12-2 PM MT, 11 AM - 1 PM PT**

*Abstract*: This tutorial will teach participants the basics of rapid usability assessments—a good way to quickly identifyareas for improvement in any user experience.
Whether your users interact with your software product via command line or GUI, usability assessments can be a useful tool.
These tests can be completed quickly and provide quantitative data like users’ success rates, speed, or satisfaction when completing a task.
In this hands-on tutorial, participants will learn to define a task for moderated assessment, recruit and prepare for their study, conduct a usability assessment, and analyze results.

*Learning Objectives*:
1. Identify scenarios and tasks appropriate for rapid usability testing
1. Recruit for a user study and track participants’ data
1. Conduct and analyze results from a rapid usability assessment

*Intended Audience*: All US-RSE members.

Attendees are expected to follow the [US-RSE Code of Conduct](https://us-rse.org/about/code-of-conduct/).
