Releases: ViaVersionAddons/ViaBackwards-Plus
v2.1.1
v2.1
v2
ViaBackwards Plus v2 is here!
What changed?
- The pack is now dependency free, thanks to switching to the vanilla system
Why?
Both Chime and CIT Resewn are abandoned, because of the item definition system released in Minecraft 1.21.4 and expanded upon in 1.21.5. For the long-term it seemed like that so far switching would have to be done now or later. You might have noticed that updates have been slow, that is because with the v1 system I had to separately support both Chime and CIT, which meant double the work, which demotivated me, and let to slow updates if they happened at all.
What happens to v1?
On github a v1 branch has been created so contributions still can be accepted through pull requests and if that happens it will still get published. Do note here that I'll no longer update it myself, unless I see huge demand in which case I do one last update to it to backport stuff till 1.21.7.
The future
So to summarize this new dependency free version will be continued, and if contributions are made by others to the v1 they will also get published. Thanks to the burden of the double work now being over I may explore the possibility of backporting entities or a more server-side focused version to backport sounds, we will see :)
v1.5.3 Patch 1
Fixes
- Fixed the rendering of closed and open eye blossoms and resin brick walls
v1.5.3
v1.5.2

About loading the pack on 1.20.5+
In 1.20.5 the way data (which is crucial to this project) is stored on items had changed. Currently it seems like that if I want to support both the new and the old system I will need to do double the work, but I wait for Chime to update before a final decision.
