Some users have asked about why some of my add-ons have certain permissions. Some of the permissions on the add-on listing look very scary, like the Access your data for all websites permission used by many add-ons. In the interest of full transparency, the permissions used by this extension are detailed below:

Store unlimited amount of client-side data

By default, browsers limit the amount of data an add-on can store. The storage limitation is sufficient for most add-ons that are just saving settings, but this add-on needs to be able to store audio files that can be added by the user for custom chimes. Because most users will be adding files that are over the storage limitation, this add-on needs permission to store an unlimited amount of data on your browser.
