I was getting deprecation warnings that object_id was deprecated and default_entity_id should be used instead, and that the original version would stop working in Homeassistant 2026.4.

For most values, homeassistant was suggesting things like binary_sensor.<old id> and the like, but finding the correct thing to prepend for over 80 values was too much for my taste.

I found that using the generic sensor.<old_id> worked on all IDs - this way I could keep all my automation by avoiding changes in IDs.

There might be another way with finer granularity of sensor types - but the generic way worked for me.

Thanks for the great templates by the way, working like a breeze for my vitocal 250.

… using sensor.<something> we stay compatible with (at least my) existing automations.
