NeuraBrowser was inspired by the need for a more intelligent and efficient browsing experience. The idea came from observing how often we encounter language barriers or lengthy content that requires simplification. We wanted to create a tool that makes browsing smoother and more informative, allowing users to easily translate pages and generate summaries to improve their understanding and productivity.
NeuraBrowser offers AI-powered translation and page summarization features. Users can translate entire pages to their preferred language or quickly generate summaries to get the key points from lengthy content, making web browsing more productive and accessible.
The project was built using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, utilizing the Chrome Extensions API. We used content scripts to interact with the web pages and extract text for translation and summarization. The summarization and translation features are powered by external AI services, allowing us to deliver quick and accurate results to users. We also designed a simple but intuitive popup interface to provide users easy access to these functions.
One of the biggest challenges was handling the variety of web page structures. Since every website is different, ensuring the extension could accurately extract text for summarization and translation was a significant hurdle. We also faced some issues with maintaining performance while processing large amounts of content, especially with real-time interaction. Integrating AI services and managing the asynchronous nature of JavaScript also presented learning curves, but ultimately, overcoming these challenges made our solution more robust.
