Partially disambiguating Lei Li

TL;DR: create explicit catch-all lei-li id and single out a few (8?) authors with this name based on ORCID information.

This case of author name disambiguation should help me understand how much effort it would take to resolve difficult cases (many namesakes, many papers)

Definitely a complete list of papers per author plus ORCID and degree institution would have made this a lot easier. reliable sources to verify or cross-check the information given also helps.

Status quo

There was no id in the xml for lei-li and the page https://aclanthology.org/people/lei-li/ listed 165 papers.
In the XML files I was able to find 5 different ORCIDs, suggesting high ambiguity.

Outlook

• any Lei Li author who so far has used the catch-all id URL when reporting "their" author page would need to change it (e.g. seen this for at least two authors in their OpenReview profile: bupt, hku)
• as long as the new author representation is not implemented, newly ingested papers likely will land on the catch-all page (even if they contain a known ORCID!), which could trigger requests from authors to add them to their page. After the new author representation will be in place and matching new papers based on orcid is implemented, it gts even more important that users document their ORCID at submission time in the relevant conference submission portal/profile/form.
