Summary
Coming from MicroPython, it took me a while to figure out why CircuitPython was booting more slowly, and how to avoid it.
Testing
Confirmed that specifying
CIRCUITPY_SKIP_SAFE_MODE_WAIT=1really does fix my issue on a custom RP2040 board.Trade-offs and Alternatives
Previously discussed on #7084. For me, the compile time option is fine, once I found it.
