Is it worth adding a note that the need for this gem will only be temporary, until we switch off Content Store and use GraphQL for everything?

Looks good and explains the decision clearly.

I'm not sure a new version needs to be release though, as there's no functionality change. I'll leave that decision to you.

I was undecided but will drop the commit. It will need a manual release at some point for the Auto release workflow to work but we have more changes coming.
