Hi — I'm Francis (am3lue)! 👋

Data Scientist • Embedded Systems Developer • Robotics Enthusiast
🚀 I blend data, code, and hardware to build smarter, low‑cost systems for people and the planet.

đź” Quick overview

I design and build practical systems at the intersection of IoT, embedded robotics, and data science — with a focus on low-cost, maintainable solutions for rural and small‑scale farming, water management, and community automation.

⚡ Highlights

  • Domain expertise: smart irrigation, automated water billing, embedded controllers, sensor integration, and prototype robotics.
  • Approach: rapid prototyping → iterative testing → robust documentation. I prefer open-source tools and reproducible workflows.
  • Current focus: sustainable smart irrigation, locally hosted web tools for device management, and data‑driven crop monitoring.

đź›  Skills & Technologies

Julia Arduino ESP32 C++ Python Robotics

Tooling & libraries: Genie.jl, Plots.jl, Pandas, Scikit‑Learn, TensorFlow, Arduino IDE, VS Codium, JupyterLab.

Hardware: Arduino Mega, ESP8266, ESP32, RFID (RC522), capacitive soil sensors, RTC modules, solenoid valves, ultrasonic sensors.

🚀 Featured Projects

Click the project name to open the repository (replace placeholders with your real repo links).

  • Automated Water Billing System — An RFID‑based smart water dispenser with a locally hosted web recharge portal (Arduino Mega + NodeMCU + solenoid valves). Repo

  • Automated Solar Irrigation System — Solar‑powered controller for scalable irrigation, optimized for mixed cropping and low energy budgets. Repo

  • Timed & Soil Moisture Irrigation Controller — Uses RTC and capacitive moisture sensors to make irrigation decisions. Ideal for home gardens and small farms. Repo

  • Local Refill Web App (NodeMCU) — Lightweight Wi‑Fi UI (port 8000) for topping up user balance and viewing transaction logs locally. Repo

  • Metal Detector Door System — Prototype entry gate detector using LJ12A3–4‑Z/BX inductive sensor for basic metal detection and alerts. Repo

📦 How to use / Quick start

  1. Clone the repository: git clone https://github.com/am3lue/<repo-name>.git
  2. Open the appropriate microcontroller sketch in Arduino IDE (or firmware file for ESP32/ESP8266).
  3. Follow the README in each project for wiring diagrams, library installs, and configuration values (Wi‑Fi SSID, passwords, pins).

If you prefer Julia backends (Genie.jl) for web interfaces, check the server/ folders in the repos for example endpoints and how to run locally.

📊 GitHub Activity & Stats

🧰 Workflows & Recommendations

  • Prototyping: Breadboard + Arduino/ESP → test sensors/actuators → move to PCB/Enclosure.
  • Versioning: Keep firmware and server code in separate branches; tag releases for field‑tested builds.
  • Data logging: Use CSV/SQLite for local logging; push to lightweight REST endpoints when connectivity is available.

🤝 Collaboration & Contact

I’m open to collaborations on hardware + software projects, field trials, and mentorship for students wanting low‑cost IoT solutions.

📜 License & Credits

This profile and the sample project READMEs follow permissive licensing. Add a LICENSE file to each repo (MIT recommended) and credit any third‑party code used.

Thanks for visiting — let’s build something that matters. ✨
