This is still just concept PR and incomplete and it lacks lots of feature that will be added once product team discusses the aspect of this.

I know this is really recent but from previous experience are we looking at a few weeks, months, 2027, never?

Honestly I am not the team member I am just a contributor so not sure but I think may be few weeks or months hopefully. I am sure team is super busy improving the product.

As mentioned by @konstantiniiv they will get back soon so nothing to worry about. Can discuss more on the community form.
