# Important notice
uimaFIT has been integrated into the [Apache UIMA Java SDK](https://github.com/apache/uima-uimaj) with version 3.6.0.
With this integration, uimaFIT ceases to exist as a separate sub-project.
For the time being, uimaFIT artifacts continue to be released as part of the Java SDK releases under the familiar Maven coorinates.
The merge of uimaFIT into the core Java SDK paves the way for further integrating the uimaFIT functionalities into the framework core.
