[Error] Version must be a string when installing using use-package :vc

Describe the bug

When trying to import this package using use-package :vc (emacs 30) I'm getting this even when very specific about the package location:

Cannot open load file: No such file or directory, consult-web

To Reproduce

1. Launch emacs from a temp directory emacs --init-directory ~/.config/basic/ --debug-init
2. Install consult-web this way

(use-package consult-web
  :vc (:url "https://github.com/armindarvish/consult-web.git"
       :main-file "consult-web.el"
       :lisp-dir "sources")
[...]

Expected behavior

Package should be installed and interactive functions available.

Important Information:

• OS: Fedora 41
• Version of Emacs 30
• Version of consult 20241206.22
• use-package from source (:vc)
