I was running into issues (1, 2, 3) as someone new to this and just forking this repo.
It seems a recent version of ZMK/Zephyr made some breaking changes, they suggested pinning to an older version to prevent breaking the existing workflow. I was able to pin against v0.3.0 and get my firmware generated properly.
