Is there a reason the same treatment isn't done for Pi? Specifically, why not set BoutReal q = (sheath_gamma_i - 1.5) * tisheath * nesheath * visheath; ?

Hi @bshanahan I think it is just that Vi is the same as the sound speed, unless the flow is supersonic, whereas Ve can be different when there are currents flowing. It wouldn't hurt to use the same method for Vi (Pi), since then at least the calculation of the sheath velocity is consistent. |
