How to output user-defined log-messages to logcat?

A user should be able to print messages in their application.

debug!("debug message");
info!("info message");
warn!("warning message");
error!("error message");

This should be visible to the user when connecting to adb logcat.

So far I'm able to see some outputs printed when using the following command:

adb logcat -v color --pid $(adb shell pidof -s org.bevyengine.example)

But I have been completely unable to pick up any user-defined messages.

Can anyone help me figure this out?
