wgpu error fedora linux

Trying to run a bevy app gives me this error.

I have followed the dependencies guide for fedora. So I'm unsure what's going on. The card I have is a RTX 3080.

Update: Trying the WGPU hello triangle example works which is also using winit so this is very puzzling.

Forcing wayland with env vars + disabling HDR fixed it.
