This removes the inheritance from platform-engineering-org/.github to fix the 'Edited' warning that prevents Renovate from automatically rebasing PRs.

The warning occurs because Renovate doesn't recognize bootc-bot as a valid commit author when it's configured through the inherited configuration.

See bootc-dev/infra#19 for context.

This is part of a batch update across all bootc-dev repositories.

Summary of Changes

Hello @cgwalters, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request resolves an issue with Renovate's automatic rebase functionality by adjusting its configuration. The change aims to eliminate a specific warning that hindered automation, ensuring Renovate can properly manage dependency updates without manual intervention.

Highlights

  • Renovate Configuration Update: The extends property, which inherited configuration from github>platform-engineering-org/.github, has been removed from the renovate.json file.
  • Fix for Automated Rebasing: This modification resolves an 'Edited' warning that was preventing Renovate from automatically rebasing pull requests, specifically due to bootc-bot not being recognized as a valid commit author under the previous inherited configuration.

Code Review

This pull request removes the inherited Renovate configuration from platform-engineering-org/.github to resolve an issue with commit author validation. While this change achieves the stated goal, it also causes the repository to lose all shared configuration and fall back to Renovate's default settings. My review highlights this potential issue and suggests an alternative approach to ensure consistent dependency management behavior while still addressing the author validation problem.
