Apologies for being inactive this long, but here is the rework of smth I've initially worked on almost a year ago.
About the URL support PR, I will implement the wanted changes and revert the variable renaming crap in #15 when I have patience for it, probably sometime soon.
I also included the commit fixing building on master, which currently is broken in here. I hope that's ok.
