The workflow should have a permissions key defining the minimal required permissions for the GITHUB_TOKEN. As neither compile nor test jobs push code or change repository content, both can use only contents: read, which is the minimal allowed permission for checking out code. To enforce this for the entire workflow, add permissions: contents: read at the root level (before the jobs: block). No changes to the steps or imports are necessary; simply add the block right after the workflow name (after line 1).
