Hi Falko,

Sorry for never getting back to this. I just had a look and it looks like the change breaks some test cases. Please have a look at them.

Besides, I think I won't be able to spend too much time on this project in the future. If you like you can become a co-maintainer of this project, so that you can make changes as you like without the PR cycle.
