Amazon Web Services (AWS)

cbisio edited this page Feb 5, 2020 · 4 revisions

What is it?

Amazon Web Services is the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform, offering over 175 fully-featured services from data centers globally. Millions of customers—including the fastest-growing startups, largest enterprises, and leading government agencies—are using AWS to lower costs, become more agile, and innovate faster.

Why we used it?

As it supports Elasticsearch, and we believe that it was a necessary tool, we decided to deploy our backend in an Amazon EC2 (Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud)

Relevant information

The public IP address they gave us, and therefore, where our project is hosted is http://3.82.105.143:3000/

In order to run the application server, you would have to execute rails server -b 0.0.0.0 once you're already connected to the EC2
