You can root the Google Play Games Emulator with command hpesuperpower.exe -magisk <path to magisk app>, and remove root by hpesuperpower.exe -restore.

The program also works for Google Play Games Developer Emulator by append -dev to the command.

It is recommended to use Magisk Canary by now to get a selinux patch fix topjohnwu/Magisk#8293
