## Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL)

Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) is a Windows feature that lets you run a Linux environment within Windows. When you install WARP on the Windows host, WARP does not automatically update the DNS nameservers in WSL. This can cause connectivity issues within WSL.

To resolve the issue, manually configure the WSL nameservers to point to [WARP's local DNS proxy](/cloudflare-one/connections/connect-devices/warp/configure-warp/route-traffic/warp-architecture/#dns-traffic):

1. Open the WSL shell.
2. Confirm that WSL has Internet connectivity:
```sh
$ dig google.com
```

4. Determine the MTU of the `CloudflareWARP` interface:

netsh.exe interface ipv4 show interfaces

3. Determine which network interface WSL is connected to:
```sh
ifconfig
```

5. If needed, set the WSL interface to the same MTU as WARP:

```sh
$ sudo ip link set dev eth0 mtu 1280 up
```


## 4G/5G embedded modules

Because of how the WARP client instantiates the local DNS Proxy, it is incompatible with 4G/5G cellular adaptors which have IPv6 enabled. To run WARP on these devices, you will need to disable IPv6 on the system.
