## Proxy SMTP traffic

By default, Cloudflare does not proxy email traffic on port 25 (SMTP). You can only proxy outgoing email if you have [Spectrum](/spectrum/) configured for [SMTP](/spectrum/reference/configuration-options/#smtp).
