Most of the widgets and controls used in CrissCross are jQuery UI widgets and so their colours and style are controlled via a central 'themeroller' theme. See this page:

... and look at the Roll Your Own/Gallery tabs. Once you've got what you want, you can download it from the Themeroller site and just drop it into a subfolder of \Content and make sure the Main.Master page has a link to it.

The rest of the styling of the app is based on the Site.css file
