For users directed here and looking to download the app:

  1. Click code-scanner-1.7.apk at the bottom
  2. Download the APK file
  3. Open the APK file, then follow installation prompts, enabling installation from unknown sources
  4. The app will be downloaded on your device.

Version 1.7 brings multiple major improvements:

  • Batch scan (optional)
  • Preferences
  • Pinch to zoom
  • More data types
  • QR codes created are saved to cache and can be cleared by clearing cache of app
  • Text in the bottom sheet is now selectable

Several bugs are also fixed as well:

  • URL without schema cannot be opened
  • Text in BottomSheetDialog overflowing
  • Color picker showing wrong previous color
  • Scrolling text in bottom sheet does not show first few lines

Do note that some amendments have been made to the privacy policy, clarifying that the app cannot connect to the Internet.

Version 1.7 targets Android 12 (API 31).
