CAPod — Companion for AirPods

CAPod brings AirPods battery monitoring and smart features to Android. It reads Bluetooth LE broadcasts from your AirPods to show battery levels, trigger popups, and more — no Apple device required.

What can CAPod do?

  • Battery levels — Left, right, and case battery at a glance
  • Case-open popup — See battery status the moment you open the lid
  • Home screen widget — Battery info without opening the app
  • Auto pause/play — Pause audio when you take an AirPod out
  • Auto connect — Automatically connect when AirPods are nearby
  • Ear detection — Know which pods are in use

Supported devices

All official AirPods and Beats models are supported — see the full list in the README. Some clone/fake AirPods work too, depending on the model.

Get started

  1. Install CAPod from Google Play, GitHub, or F-Droid
  2. Grant Bluetooth and location permissions (location is required by Android for BLE scanning — CAPod doesn't track you)
  3. Open your AirPods case near your phone
  4. Create a device profile matching your AirPods model

Want more accurate battery readings?

By default, battery shows in 10% steps (an Apple protocol limitation). You can unlock 1% granularity by extracting your AirPods' identity and encryption keys — see the Key Extraction Guide.
