What was wrong?

Related to Issue #343

How was it fixed?

Based on the list of deprecated modules in newer versions of sphinx, I did some tweaks to add support for sphinx>=4.0.0, as well as keeping backward compatibility with prior versions. Moreover, I fixed the warnings that are filed during the build process(Bonus).
