Dracula for PuTTY
A dark theme for PuTTY.
PuTTY settings are stored in the Microsoft Windows Registry.
Dracula settings for PuTTY
are provided as .reg
files you can import into the Windows Registry.
To install:
- Download dracula.reg and save it to your local disk.
- In File Explorer (Windows Explorer), locate the file, then double-click it.
- Confirm the Registry Editor prompt to import the settings.
Note: The import writes settings under your user account (HKCU) and typically does not require administrator rights.
A saved session named "Dracula" will now be available in PuTTY. It applies Dracula colors; other options remain as in your current "Default Settings".
Load the "Dracula" session and use PuTTY as usual.
To make Dracula the default for new sessions: load "Dracula", select "Default Settings" under "Saved Sessions", then click Save. New sessions will use Dracula colors by default. Tip: create a backup of your current defaults first (e.g., save as "Default Settings (backup)").
Optional: To remove the "Dracula" saved session later, open PuTTY, select "Dracula" under Saved Sessions, click Delete, and (if you had made it the default) load backup settings and Save "Default Settings" again.
