You can interact with filter pills to edit them, temporarily alter their behavior without having to delete them, or make them available in other contexts. The following options are available when selecting a filter pill: | |||

**Pin across all apps** and **Unpin** |

Another interesting behavior is that Pinned filters are not saved. For example, if you pin a filter on a dashboard and save the dashboard. Then open the dashboard listing table in a new tab and open the dashboard, the pinned filter is no longer present. Not sure if this is worth mentioning.

I think it is! I will add something
Thank you for taking a look @nreese. I made some changes to include (hopefully accurately enough) your feedback. Let me know if there's more :) |

LGTM. Thanks for adding some documentation on pinned filters. They have been confusing users for a decade and hopefully this can help reduce some of that confusion.
At last, some docs for a 2015 feature that isn't very discoverable.
I scanned the discuss forum and tested the feature myself to produce these descriptions. Please suggest any changes if you see something incorrect or if I have missed anything.
Those pinned filters for sure persist in Dashboards and Discover. But there may be more apps too, so I've used a snippet to include this information in different relevant sections about app-specific filtering capabilities.
