Overview
It was decided that version 8.16 will not include new defaults for inference endpoints due to insufficient feature robustness. A new release date for these defaults is yet to be determined. This PR retains the documentation removed from the main docs to simplify reapplication later. PR that reverted the previous docs changes: #115748
This PR documents that the ELSER is the default service for
semantic_text.It also removes the Create inference endpoint step from the semantic text tutorial to demonstrate ease of use. A slightly more complex workflow (that includes the endpoint creation step) will be shown in the hybrid search tutorial.
