Tunnel through Dropbox

Summary

Tunneling through Dropbox buckets works, but the latency is terrible (expect around 20 seconds).

Setup

Mount your Dropbox as a drive letter.

To do this on Windows:

1. Install RClone and WinFsp
2. Configure RClone to access your Dropbox by running: rclone.exe config
3. Mount your Dropbox as a drive letter by running: rclone.exe mount dropbox: P: --vfs-cache-mode writes --poll-interval=1s --dir-cache-time=1s --vfs-write-back 1s --ignore-checksum

Run the tunnel

Host A

ft.exe -w p:\1.dat -r p:\2.dat -L 5000:127.0.0.1:22 --dropbox

Host B

ft.exe -r p:\1.dat -w p:\2.dat --dropbox
