**Mongock** is a Java based migration tool as part of your application code. It allows developers to have ownership and control over data migrations during the deployment process, allowing safer migrations in distributed systems as code and data changes are shipped together.

## Documentation
The official documentation is [here][documentation_link], where you can find everything rom version 3.

## Professional support 🚀
Mongock professional is the extension of the Mongock open source project. This provides some additional advantages such as:

- Advanced features exclusive to the Professional version.
- New community features are available and released to the professional version as well.
- Professional support for the tool usage is backed by Mongock Ltd, providing your business with additional help and responses.

Visit this [link](https://docs.mongock.io/v5/professional/setup.html) to get started.

## Older versions support
With new major releases we stop enhancing or adding new features to older version(like version 3 or 4). However, we'll keep providing support and bug fixes for a long period. We are working on an official support plan.

# ⚠️ Mongock is deprecated

**Status:** This project is no longer maintained (as of 2025-08-01). Our efforts have moved to Flamingock - which supports all existing Mongock features and expands its vision to manage Changes for any component - not just databases.

> For future-proof projects, we recommend transitioning to [Flamingock](https://github.com/flamingock/flamingock-java).

---

## Meet Flamingock 🚀

We are the original authors of Mongock. Over the past couple of years, we've been heads‑down building **[Flamingock](https://github.com/flamingock/flamingock-project)**
— a platform inspired by what worked in Mongock, but with a much broader scope: **auditable changes that evolve across your systems for any integrations**. (A managed cloud offering is also in the works.)

- Robust support for MongoDB and NoSQL migrations, covering everything previously offered by Mongock
- Extends beyond databases to orchestrate changes across any component type (message queues, APIs, databases, feature flags, and more)
- Designed **from the ground up with auditability, determinism, and governance at its core**

### More highlights
- Flexible/low‑code templates for defining changes
- Native GraalVM support
- Advanced multi-stage workflows
- …and more in the docs → [Features overview](https://docs.flamingock.io/docs/overview/key-features)

> Same creators. Broader scope. Better foundations.

## Why the change?

Mongock helped teams evolve NoSQL databases with confidence.
But in real-world systems, evolution doesn't stop at databases — it extends to message schemas, APIs, configurations, feature flags, and compliance rules.

**Flamingock was built to support that full spectrum from day one.**
It’s not a direct continuation of Mongock, but a new platform that also does everything Mongock did — and much more.

---

## What about existing Mongock users?

- Your current versions will keep working as-is - though we encourage to upgrade to benefit from managing changes across components broader than NoSQL.
- We strongly recommend evaluating Flamingock for new projects or when planning significant changes.
- Flamingock introduces a different architecture, but we’ve made it easy to transition when you're ready.
- Follow our step by step guideline to help you upgrade: see **[How to move from Mongock to Flamingock](https://docs.flamingock.io/docs/resources/upgrade-from-mongock)**
