Summary of Changes

Hello @fulleni, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

I've made a straightforward change to update the application's environment setting. This modification switches the appEnvironment constant from development to demo, likely to facilitate testing or demonstration of the application in a specific configuration.

Highlights

  • Application Environment Configuration: The application's environment constant, appEnvironment, located in lib/main.dart, has been updated.

Code Review

This pull request changes the hardcoded application environment from development to demo. This is a risky practice that can lead to incorrect environments being deployed. It's much safer to manage environment configurations through build-time variables rather than committing them to source control. My feedback includes a suggestion to use compile-time variables, which is a more robust and flexible approach.

critical

Hardcoding the application environment is prone to errors, as it can lead to accidentally committing a development or demo configuration that gets deployed to production. A better practice is to use compile-time variables to configure the environment, which allows you to build the app for any environment without changing the code.

You can achieve this using String.fromEnvironment and pass the value during the build command, for example: flutter build web --dart-define=APP_ENVIRONMENT=production.

const appEnvironment = AppEnvironment.values.byName(
  String.fromEnvironment('APP_ENVIRONMENT', defaultValue: 'development'),
);
