El looks pretty neat! I thought it'd be nice to add to the neatness by replacing the webpack & express setup with the hot new thing.
I've tried to keep the changes in this PR minimal, but I've also got a commit that adds ESLint and Prettier, which I'd be happy to make another PR for if you'd like?
