Workgroup consensus on Sep 2025 meeting:

A comment was raised about whether large European initiatives (e.g., 1+ Million Genomes, Quantum project) are connected with the WGS-QC effort. It was clarified that the Quantum project is not directly involved, while the 1+ Million Genomes initiative is closely connected through ongoing work on defining minimal QC metrics (e.g., Genome of Europe efforts). These projects have previously published QC frameworks (e.g., 2021 publications with ~5 metrics for pan-cancer and exome/genome use cases), and current work continues to refine the approach, converging on three core sequencing QC measures and broader interlaboratory comparison using standardized pipelines.

Decision:
The workgroup noted that relevant outputs from European initiatives, particularly 1+ Million Genomes, are already contributing to the WGS-QC development. No further action is needed beyond continued awareness and alignment, while acknowledging that Quantum is not directly part of the effort.
