Metadata Explorer
The Metadata Explorer is an indipendent JavaScript component that can comunicate with one or more Catalog Service for the Web(CSW). Designed to be easy to use, smart and configurable, CSWViewer shows data returned from the CSW services presenting a data preview and allowing to interact with a map on the same page.
The component provides:
- [Catalog Selection](wiki/Catalog Selection) combobox with remote compatibility check.
- Simple Search functionality that allow to perform an "Any Text Search" inside the catalog.
- Advanced Search panel, hidden at first, that allow to perform more complex searches.
The results of a performed search are shown in a grid below the search panel, and each row inside the grid can be expanded to see a more exhaustive presentation of data about the related record. Inside this view there are also some buttons, for interaction with a map that could be in the same page.
