fix(macos): handle Cmd+V paste in search bar

This drove me mad, so I tried to fix it.

Just that I cant paste. I get this with yabai disabled, and no config. Not sure what I can provide as more info. I tried debugging this by looking at logs from Console.app, nothing there. Whenever I press CMD+v right after entering the search input, I just get the bell, nothing else.

LMK how I can debug this. Smells like a keyboard/input source moment for me(I've tested this with both the external and internal keyb on my mac, both Norwegian and english input source language)

Can you try recording a video with keypresses overlaid to show me what you're doing?

I spent a few minutes here trying to reproduce this in various ways and I just can't. Paste always works for me as long as that search bar has focus (which I don't have to do anything special except press cmd+f to get).

So to repro:

New window -> ctrl-f -> try paste and it works as expected -> close it and then do the same thing again, and its working

I just tried that and it works fine. Specifically:

1. New window (Cmd+N)
2. Cmd+f
3. Cmd+v (see pasted contents)
4. Escape, escape (2x, close search)
5. Cmd+f
6. Cmd+v (see pasted contents)

Did I do something wrong?

I do the same thing and I get whats in the vid. No yabai and no config running 😂 I'm just gonna go ahead and close this since you cant repro

Haha sorry. I do want to fix this but I want to understand what’s happening first. Maybe somehow related to locale or key layout?
