  • Created a new organization for all pluto-related repositories: go-pluto
  • Together with Matze, fixed TLS bad certificate error in internal communication
  • Added cancellation of gRPC background connection routines after too many failed attempts
  • Finished Maildir exporter
  • Met with Tim and discussed evaluation of pluto, especially the first two evaluation cases
  • Fixed gokit level.go:63 default caller problem
  • More explicitely added connection tear down after an IMAP LOGOUT command
  • Added random message generation to IMAP benchmark
  • With Matze deployed the Maildir exporter as side kick on worker and storage nodes

  • Met with Lennart regarding evaluation
  • Progress with Dovecot dsync setup, GCE federation needed
  • IMAP benchmark progress

  • Bought a domain, yeah! :D go-pluto.de
  • Fixed the docker build bug
  • Deployed a Drone CI on GCE
  • Short research into failure frameworks, will look more deeply
  • Put a lot of effort into federation, also ongoing work

    • Have a look how to integrate a failure framework into our clusters, see Evaluation
    • Try to apply federation to our deployment
    • Support with Prometheus and metrics
    • Make sure Grafana has persistent dashboards
  • Lennart:
    • Change pluto configuration to support multiple regions
    • Have a look at Kleppmann's paper
    • Prepare a thorough plan and validity checklist for final evaluation run
    • Check how and if we can evaluate Gmail
    • Expose more useful metrics in pluto
    • Meet with David Bermbach to discuss cloud measurement
    • Fix DELETE consistency bug in pluto
    • Check possibilities to trace duration of requests throughout the system reliably
    • Develop a plan for how to collect final results and draw conclusions from them

    • IMAP benchmark has to write to GCS
    • Finish all Dovecot setups (including Maildir exporter)
    • Create up a reference repository for Dovecot build
    • Discuss verification in Kaiserslautern (includes Kleppmann's paper)
