As the sources for it are probably in Peter Mamunkov's Google-Docs account, we can to really open source it, unless he would provide a checkout of it. I did not ask.

The first 4 cmmits are fixes for compilign the project, locally and on Travis-CI.
The rest is mostly about improving the handbook (what is visible on escher.io),
and a bit about the README and TODO.
