Summary of Changes

Hello @gino-m, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request significantly expands the agent's utility by integrating a set of new development workflow skills. These additions aim to standardize and automate critical steps in the software development lifecycle, from gathering feedback on pull requests to ensuring code quality and safe deployment. The changes enhance the agent's ability to assist developers by providing tools for code preparation, verification, and controlled pushes, thereby promoting consistency and reducing manual overhead.

Highlights

  • New Skill: Fetch PR Comments: Introduced a new skill that fetches pull request comments and reviews, formatting them into Markdown for easy analysis. This skill leverages the GitHub CLI to retrieve comprehensive PR data.
  • New Skill: Prepare Commit: Added a skill to automate code formatting (ktfmtFormat) and remind developers to remove temporary comments before committing, ensuring code quality and consistency.
  • New Skill: Push to GitHub: Implemented a skill that acts as a pre-push safety gate, running unit tests and code checks before pushing changes to the remote repository, preventing broken builds.
  • New Skill: Verify Changes: Created a skill to quickly run local unit tests, allowing developers to verify changes during the development cycle and catch regressions early.
  • Updated GEMINI.md Guidelines: The project guidelines were updated to reflect the new skills, providing clear instructions on their usage for preparing, verifying, and pushing code, and refining file access rules.
  • .gitignore Updates: The .gitignore file was updated to exclude the newly added .agent directory, which contains the skill scripts, and the GEMINI.md file from version control.

🧠 New Feature in Public Preview: You can now enable Memory to help Gemini Code Assist learn from your team's feedback. This makes future code reviews more consistent and personalized to your project's style. Click here to enable Memory in your admin console.

Code Review

This pull request introduces several new skills to streamline the development workflow, including fetching PR comments, preparing commits, pushing to GitHub, and verifying changes. The SKILL.md files provide clear documentation for each new skill, and the GEMINI.md file has been updated appropriately to reflect these new capabilities and their usage. However, there is a critical functional issue in the fetch_comments.py script where it does not fully fetch code comments as implied by the PR title, and a minor bug in its exit code handling.
