 개인적으로는 이 소설이 참 재미있었습니다. 마치 래퍼들이 디스전을 벌이듯, 선대의 작가 토머스 하디와 동시대 작가 휴 월폴을 비판하는 서머싯 몸의 태도가 참 재미있었습니다. '인지'가 있으면 '메타인지'가 있듯, 물리physics가 있으면 메타물리metaphysics가 있고 논리학logic이 있으면 메타논리학metalogic이 있듯, 이 소설은 마치 '메타문학meta-literature'과 같은 소설이 아니었나, 그래서 더 재밌지 않았나 하는 생각이었습니다.
