This is of course a breaking change so we can't backport it. Unless you think nobody is using the blueprint support :)

Otherwise clippy complains and zombie processes might stay around.

Also make sure to never panic on normal errors for the same reason, and
provide more useful error messages.

Good from my side. @bilelmoussaoui ? If this is also OK for you, let's merge and then I backport the non-breaking changes and make a bugfix release.
