The thing I need the most help with right now is the user interface, not signature bypassing!
Signature bypassing is already FINISHED now. I've already got to the state where the system can now boot normally with every single file on the harddisk signed with an invalid certificate!
I need to restore all the removed control panel applets, restore Aero Glass, restore Windows7's window close, open, minimize, and restore from minimize animations while keeping Windows11's Window maximize, restore from maximize, and tile animations, restore Windows10's taskbar, restore Windows10's start menu, restore Windows Vista's quick launch bar, restore tablet mode, restore Windows7's network flyout, restore Windows7's clock flyout, restore Windows7's volume flyout, restore Windows7's battery flyout, restore WindowsXP's sidebar, and restore the startup, shutdown, login, and logout sound effects. And I want to do all of them with as much static patching and as less in ram hooking as possible!
Meaning that I would prefer patching DWM.exe on disk rather than using something like DWM Blur Glass.
Tip: Ra1ndows is not yet finished, this document only serves as a preview. Features may be added or removed at any time during the development process, please refer to the final product.
Please validate the only official download address: https://github.com/happymimimix/Ra1ndows/releases
Anyone is allowed to make their own customized version of Windows based on Ra1ndows, but they must clearly indicate in Readme that they are using my work and they must clearly inform the user that the file they are downloading is not the original Ra1ndows officially released by Happy_mimimix!
NOTICE: Ra1ndows only supports legacy booting, any new devices must have legacy emulation enabled in BIOS setup in order to install Ra1ndows properly.
Currently, I have no intention of supporting UEFI. Which is not only more difficult to modify, but also less reliable and compatible than Legacy. I did an experiment on the startup speed and obviously UEFI wasn't performing any better than legacy in my test. UEFI boots faster is just a busted myth!
If you insist on using UEFI, then I'm sorry that my original implementation of Ra1ndows can't meet your needs. You can take a look in Forks to see if any third parties have ported this project to UEFI.
If you want to join the development of Ra1ndows, please contact me on discord.
