Improved Default HUD v4.0.4
Improved Default HUD v4.0.3
Improved Default HUD v4.0.2
Added shortcuts in the item selection screen. It can now be navigated using keyboard shortcuts (A and D).
Restored the passive attributes text and moved the loadout and taunt buttons to the top-left side.
Which file should I download?
The VPK version is recommended as it improves loading times (see tf/custom/readme.txt).
However, if you want to edit some parts the HUD, you have to download the ZIP version.
By default, the HUD is adjusted for the 16:9 aspect ratio. It should work normally on other aspect ratios too, but it has not been extensively tested.
If you play on an aspect ratio different than 16:9 and use the tournament spectator GUI, see this note in the README.
Special thanks to CriticalFlaw and the contributors of the tf2hud-fixes repository. Some of the changes integrated into IDHUD were based on changes there.
Improved Default HUD v4.0.1
This release contains just a minor clean-up:
- Delete
mainmenuoverride.resand use the vanilla file (c35515d).- Mostly the same as the vanilla file. The changes from IDHUD don't seem to make any noticeable difference.
- You can use the ConVar
cl_promotional_codes_button_showto toggle the button if it appears in your main menu.

Improved Default HUD v4.0
Improved Default HUD v4.0

Our holidays in Ancient Greece led us to so much studying that we forgot to update IDHUD!
But it is updated now! :)
We hope you can enjoy this new update as much as we did enjoy learning in Ancient Greece!
Most of the changelog here is based on this issue: #37

- Removed all close captions customization as they were causing problems.
- Fixed Mann vs. Machine HUD overlapping. (#29)
- Added high-quality item previews in many places (backpack, loadout, crafting etc.). This is done via a HUD file tweak without the use of additional files. (See https://www.teamfortress.tv/25428/higher-quality-item-images-in-inventory-loadouts for screenshots.)
- Restored small maximum health value that appears above the health cross.
- Ammo icon from Medic's heal target has been changed from the Soldier icon to the default Heavy icon.

Most of the reasoning for the removal of user customizations can be found in the aforementioned issue #37 and in the new FAQ section.

COPYING.txtfile for more information. - The README file has been improved with more information about the HUD, its features, a new gallery, a notes section and a FAQ section.
- The HUD banner has been changed.
