LigerKernel fix rebase

There were some git tree issues with the initial PR; hence made this one for the rebase.

Run tox on the head of your branch then run git commit --amend --no-edit to fix the errors that Ruff is giving you, then git push -f <repo> <branch> to publish the change.

Tox should run Ruff which'll fixup your PR.
