StoRM Backend v1.11.22

Description

This release mainly:

• adds WebDAV pools support with a load balancing strategy as already present for GridFTP endpoints;
• fixes bug on storage space table update;
• fixes not published VOs in case of multiple support.

Bug fixes

• [STOR-1506] - Only one VO (the first) is listed into storage site report even if a storage area serves multiple VOs
• [STOR-1525] - Load balancing strategy for StoRM WebDAV server pool
• [STOR-1561] - CREATE date in the future in table storage_space
• [STOR-1510] - Storage space info creation timestamp must not be overwritten during UPDATE queries

Installation and configuration

If you’re upgrading, you can update and restart StoRM backend service as follow:

yum update storm-backend-mp storm-backend-server

During the upgrade, the service will be restarted. In case you have any kind of questions or problems please contact us.

In case of a clean installation please read the System Administrator Guide.

StoRM Backend v1.11.21

This release:

• fixes the known issue about the upgrade to StoRM v1.11.20 which could break connections with MariaDB;
• fixes the boot order ensuring that mariadb service is started before StoRM Backend;
• fixes the failed state shown on stop/restart of the service due to a misunderstood exit code meaning.
• We should be able to suppress this by adding the exit code into the unit file as a “success” exit status:

• STOR-1395 - StoRM Backend service enters failed state when stopped
• STOR-1397 - Upgrading to StoRM v1.11.20 could break connections with MariaDB
• STOR-1401 - Ensure MariaDB is started before StoRM Backend on boot

StoRM Backend v1.11.20

This release requires and install Java 11. After the upgrade you can remove Java 1.8 (or set Java 11 as your default runtime JDK). Remember to restart the service at the end.

Enhancements:

• STOR-1357 - StoRM Backend and native libs should run with Java 11

Tips:

Remove Java 1.8 as follows:

yum remove java-1.8.0-openjdk java-1.8.0-openjdk-headless

Or set Java 11 as your default runtime JDK by running:

update-alternatives --config java

and choosing the proper version.
