This project uses a static database of car makes, models, and engine sizes to populate dropdown fields in the client creation form. This approach has several advantages:
- No external API dependency: Works without an internet connection
- No API costs: No usage fees or rate limits to worry about
- Consistent performance: Fast response times without network latency
- Easy to update: Simply modify the
src/lib/carData.tsfile to add or update car information
The static database includes data for 20 popular car manufacturers and their common models with appropriate engine specifications.
