NASA Solar System Visualizer

A 3D interactive visualization of the solar system built with Next.js, React Three Fiber, and Three.js.

Features

  • Interactive 3D Cartesian space with grid and axes
  • Realistic representation of the Sun and inner planets (Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars)
  • Accurate orbital mechanics with proper scaling of distances and periods

Usage

  1. Install dependencies:

    npm install
    
  2. Run the development server:

    npm run dev
    
  3. Open http://localhost:3000 in your browser.

Controls

  • Click and drag to rotate the view
  • Scroll to zoom in and out
  • Use the slider to adjust animation speed
  • Toggle labels on/off
  • Double-click anywhere to trigger explosion effects (Easter egg)
